Folsom Garden Club Scholarship

The Folsom Garden Club is offering scholarships for the 2018-2019 academic years for the following levels:

College, University or Junior College

Full-Time    12-15 Units    $1,000 – $2,000 Scholarship

Part-Time   6-11 Units      $500 – $750 Scholarships

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Applicant must be a California resident and one of the following:
    a. A resident (permanent home address) of Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado or Yolo County.
    b. A temporary resident in Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado or Yolo Counties attending a college or university within these countie
  2. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in order to apply
  3. Applicant must be a college student entering the sophomore, junior, or senior year at an accredited college or university. Freshmen may make application for the sophomore year.
  4. Applicants must be majoring in: Horticulture, Floriculture, Landscape Design, Botany, Forestry, Agronomy, Conservation, Plant Pathology, Environmental Concerns and/or other related subjects.

Renewal: Scholarships are renewable on a yearly basis provided the student reapplies, remains in a Horticulture related field of study, is in good standing with his or her college or university, and continues to meet the Folsom Garden Club’s Scholarship criteria.

Awards:   Successful applicants will be notified on or about May 15, 2018.  Scholarship winners will be invited as guests to the June 7, 2018, luncheon meeting of the Folsom Garden Club and will receive a certificate.

Deadline: The complete Application Package including Application Form, Official Transcripts, Applicant’s Letter, List of Activities, and Photo must be sent in one packet to the Folsom Garden Club’s Scholarship Chairman postmarked no later than April 13, 2018. Letters of Recommendation must be sent direct from author to:
